There is a rule on forum rpgs that states you can't knock out someone else's character without their say so.
Since this seems to be lost on everyone, I'll write a short demonstration. I only do this
because it's happened twice. Maybe someone is confused. But if an npc is made by one person, the only person
who can decide if an attack hits, or if their character is knocked out is the PERSON WHO MADE SAID NPC.
Example:
Correct: He moved forward then, bringing back her elbow to punch her in the face.
Incorrect: He punched her in the face then, knocking her back against the wall.
A response would be something like this:
Correct: Either a: She shouted, falling back. He'd made her nose bleed. (ie: He managed to hit her.)
b: She moved sideways, missing his fist by inches. (ie: He missed.)
Keep in mind that you can't miss everything. Thats called 'god moding.'
An NPC is a character that plays a minor, but substantial role in the story. The reason I am writing this
is because there has been two occasions now that you have knocked out my NPCS. (Caitlyn and Tortle.)
I won't let it happen this time. I'm sorry. I won't allow the last post that went through,
simply because I find it greatly inappropriate. If you'd asked me beforehand, this might be okay,
but it's just breaching on the rules already a bit too much, and you've already upset me by
skipping over my post with Lillith.
I think this is fair. Please, just keep it in mind. The rules are here to give stability to the rpg.
Not to make me a nazi.
I understand this last bit, because I assume this is not illustrated in the rules. For those of you
who play D&D and are basing your expierience solely on that, please understand that this is
not exactly the same. In as such, it's also not a good idea to simply attack everything that moves.
If you insist on this for the whole rpg, you're going to miss everything.
As you already have by knocking out Cait. I won't even say what you missed there.
D&D and online rpgs are similar but still different. Please don't forget this. Please.
If you need help or have any questions, please feel free to contact me. Again, once the last post
with Tortle is corrected and someone answers what happened with Lillith (Adrienne, did she manage
to hit your npc or not?) I will add a response.
I'll also be up way too late, as I have eight lesson plans to write. Please feel free to free
me from my boredom on messanger.
Thanks again, and I'm sorry if I sound like a nazi.
