Max, with Maura in a very physical tow, bobbed beside Andrew. "So, What kind of car is it? Hmm? I hope it goes fast. I've never driven. Have you? How old are you anyway? How long have you been in here? Did they teach you to drive before you came? This rocks! I've not been outside for... ages, I guess... Wow." Maura allowed herself to be pulled, without complaining.

Leeyn grabbed Lillith's good hand gently. "I don't know where the nearest first aid kit is... but I have two bandages on me and some knowledge of herbalogy." She smiled and followed after Andrew. "We'll play with them in the car!"

It was... wide outside... the sunshine felt good on the blackness of Maura's clothing. She closed her eyes and let herself be pulled along by babbling Max.
Clyde allowed the door to close behind them. They were all out. THey were out. So cool. They were out. Now what?

"Which car is Tortle's?" Caitlyn asked.
She frowned. "..you guys, like, there's no way seven people will fit in a dinky car.."
Lillith really didn't care right now. "I don't know.. I don't know anything about cars.. we'll squeeze in if we have to. I don't care right now."
"Can anyone drive..?" Drake asked calmly.

Leeyn's fingers were busy generating herbs for healing. Thyme, mint, cinnimon, Eucalyptus and green onion curled up her fingers from her palm. She could only form the herbs in small quantities considering she was using her own cellular tissue and converting into the desired plant cells. "These will make a nice poltice for your arm..." Leeyn beamed, picking the earthy appenages from her fingers.

All at once, Max pointed and shounted, "There!" It was a large mint-green mini-van with personalized plates TORTL 1.
Clyde groaned. The colour was horrible. But, the good news was they'd all fit. He hoped Andrew could drive, because none of the girls could, Max was too stupid, and he couldn't either... But when would the guy have ever learned? And mini-vans were big (not to mention super ugly).

Clyde followed behind Caitlyn, but Max stayed peevishly beside Andrew. He looked at the older, taller boy.
Maura, still held by Max's free hand, remained still.
Clyde peeked in the window and took a look at the items that littered the seats and floor and trunk space of Tortle's mini-van.

Leeyn hovered around the van, a small faded smile on her face. She didn't like mechanical things. Humans leeched the minerals and metals from the earth to create these polluting machines. But without such a nightmare vechile... they couldn't leave at a fast enough pace. She decided she'd just grin and bear it considering there were others who needed her attention. The girl looked to the herbs in her right hand and then Lillith's hand in her right. Soon she could apply them to the water elemental's arm using some mud and the mixture of plants she had in her grasp. Leeyn would have to ask for some water to mix up the dirt she was going to summon... but maybe clay would be better... after all it could serve as a fragile cast, but a cast none the less.

OOC: Rayne will post soon, I bet, but what I see is this: Outside, parking lot with random cars, and this big minivan that is Tortle's. The lot probably is viewable by the administrative offices' windows. But we're on a far side of it... There wouldn't be any need for school bus access or anything... but there would be one enterence side and one exit side. I've no idea about the gate. But I really get that it is outside/open-air.
BIC: Mr. Little was a tall thin man with little prospect outside of the school, but he had had enough. Those kids were freaking him out. So, after going back to the admin wing and changing his drenched clothes for some sweats he kept (he liked to run on his lunch hours... he might be lean but he was a fast runner when he had been a kid, done track and field... he had been someone once, not always a clerk), he had packed up his workspace and posted a sticky note on his cubicle saying "so long and thanks for the ulcer"... and he had just quit.
He had no idea what he was going to do. The world was big. He had family. But they all considered him a deadbeat, a thug, and a loser. He didn't want to go to them right off the bat. The afternoon sun beat down, and the sky was blue and full of promise. He was out of this go nowhere dead end job... well, sorta. He had heard things. He had heard that you never really left this institution, not the crazies and not the staff. Once in, forever in. But no one had stopped him. No one had even batted an eye as he walked down the administrative hall, with its powder blue industrial carpeting and turquoise cubicle walls, with his life in a box that usually stocked paper. Something told him to be worried that his life packed up so well into a box that size, but the open air and the fact that leaving hadn't really been that hard cheered him.
That was it. He would go North. There was a cabin across the border he frequented with drinking buddies. They were all at work, and no plans were made for the next few months. It would be colder there, but there was a lake. And he could think there. It would be wonderful. Maybe he could buy a farm. Grow chickens. Live a long and happy life...
But then he saw the kids. Shit, he thought. And he flattened himself against a car, hiding. What were they doing there? Were they trying to kill him? He had lost his gun. He was entirely vulnerable. All I can do, he thought to himself, is get in my car before they notice me, and drive away. He chuckled lightly, in fear. They would be more scared of him than he was of them, wouldn't they?

OOC:Sorry.. yes, we're outside, and the parking lot is in a brightly lit sunny area. We're behind the orphanage, since we left out the library doors.
So we're basically between the lot where the orphanage is, and the school is. There are quite a number of cars, since this lot takes care of a few businesses in the area.
But this is a good escape, since we aren't visible for the administration. The dorms are on this side, with the library.
Hope that helps.
BIC: "Give me the freakin keys, or drive the van." Caitlyn repeated, irate.
Lillith was pale. She felt kinda sleepy..

Little caught his breath. Ho Geez, he thought. They've got keys. He slid along the silver Toyota's passenger door toward the trunk. His car was across the lot, closer to the children. With elaborate tip-toe running, silent, but accompaniable by a cartoon musical score, Little did a quick dart across the open space of the lane, hiding again, this time behind a burgandy Saturn. His heart beat loudly, but he thought he got away without being seen. He was closer now, and he heard a petulent voice say, "freakin keys, or drive the van" and his breath caught. The only van by them was Tortle's.
As Max stared his best puppy dog stare at his hero-in-development, Andrew, Maura took a deep breath and opened her eyes. Outside was very bright. It warmed her. She felt happy again. It had been a long time since she felt it. Almost two years. Well, two years if you didn't count the courtyard ... otherwise, thrity minutes... but she was happy anyway. The sunglasses saved her eyes quite a bit. But something caught her eyes. Over behind a saturn, there was a strange light from one of the windows. She would investigate, were she not held by Max still (strange kid, him). So she watched it.

"wait... this is almost to good.. a van that will fit all of us. Right here where we can easily find it. umm.... it is still better then staying here or walking... OK time to go."
Andrew goes about finding the right key to unlock the driver side door. "thanks, but for the time being i think I'll give this a try first, i mean how hard can it be, i have seen some rather unintelligent people driver, so for us this should be easy."

Max beamed. He wanted Andrew to drive. "Shotgun!" he yelled and moved quickly to the passenger side door, letting go of his hold on Maura.
Clyde, papers in hand, moved with Cait to the sliding cargo door on the passenger side, and waited for unlocking to commence.
Little moved slowly, slidingly, along the side of the Saturn, so he could get to it's trunk end. His car was about five spots from him, in the direction of those demon children.
Maura, noticing that she was no longer held, started moving toward the odd light. She knew what it was, or, rather, part of her did. But she didn't have any danger systems light up in her mind. She was merely curious. Who would be hiding behind a car? How terribly singular.
